Just because you subscribe to Apple Music doesn’t mean you don’t have hundreds of MP3s on your computer. What if you don’t feel like hitting up Apple Music? Or what if you can’t find the songs you want on Apple Music? Check out our little guide for how you can stream your online and offline songs on Apple Music.

Add Your Local Music to Apple Music

Buy songs from the iTunes Store, and they will appear in your Apple Music library. If you’ve bought music before, you can also import them to the app. Click File and Import.

Manage your Music Library on Apple Music

The Apple Music app treats your local files and Apple Music songs as one library. If you listen only to Apple Music songs, your local music will remain available. Your Apple Music songs also won’t clutter your local files. You can listen to Apple Music without importing the music on your computer.

Adding Apple Music songs to your local playlists is easy. Just click on the Plus and the Add buttons. If you use multiple Apple devices, you can sync your music across them. Open the app’s Preferences, go to General, then click Sync Library. Wait for a few moments, and your music will be on your iPhone and iPad.

    Build your Apple Music playlist

Just open the “three-dot menu” to add your local music to your Apple Music playlist. Apple Music can play both Apple Music songs and your local files together. Your local tracks should also show up on all your Apple devices.

With Apple Music, you can have the best of both worlds. Stream new songs while keeping the albums you’ve loved over the years.
