Anna Maria Lang, for those who don’t know you, can you please tell us about yourself?
I love to help people and make a difference in the lives of those who may be less fortunate than myself. I have been an exercise junkie and I have been the opposite and know that it is possible to be somewhere in the middle where your life doesn’t revolve around looking good and you know that you just look great no matter what. Having experienced so much adversity in my life, I know that your purpose is often born out of that adversity and that anyone can succeed regardless of where they have been or what they have been through. I’m about losing the weight off your mind and your body if you want to while making sure you are equipped through my greatest passion, my writing, to be able to make some positive change in your life too.
You were a paratrooper in the Australian Army. How did this experience impact your life?
I like to think that my experience being a paratrooper in the Army is a metaphor for how I do life. When you feel the fear, do it anyway because there is a great reward on the other side and that is success and achievement. It is not an easy thing to pass the tests to be a paratrooper, and to have done that is something I am proud of and it makes me know that no matter what I have endured, I can be resilient and overcome any pain to be able to achieve the end goal.

Do you have any advice for female entrepreneurs who may read this interview?
I would advise that you do what you are passionate about and have a vision for your work. Some women go into a project for the money and accolades but there is hard work to do when you are an entrepreneur, and it is your passion and vision that will drive you and get you through the rough times. There is a lot of strategy to it as well so make sure you find the right mentors and people who inspire you who are doing great things and follow your own intuition first and take on only what resonates with you and you know is your own true path. I would advise that you never give up. A good idea is one thing, while the resilience and persistence to achieve it is another.
It is important to understand that it’s not always a positive thing to be an entrepreneur as you may experience setbacks and doors shut on you but it’s what you do with what occurs that matters the most. If you can see a setback as an opportunity even if it is simply to learn from it, you are ahead of the game.
I advise you to get started today as when you look back over your life and past, how many missed opportunities have happened to you because you may not have taken things on and made the decision to go for it. Be secure in doing what you love and keep your financial footing while taking it on even if you start it in your spare time.
