Captain America actor Chris Evans is rewarding a young boy with an authentic shield following a heroic deed. The Avengers star sent a video message to the young boy announcing that he is shipping a Captain America shield to Bridger Walker who recently saved his sister from a charging canine.
Real-life superhero
Six-year old Walker performed his heroic act after he protected his younger sister from a raging dog last week. The dog was about to charge to the 4-year old when Walker jumped into scene to shield his sister. The courageous boy was the one attacked by the dog. As a result, Walker went through a surgery which had over 90 stitches.
Hero’s welcome
Afterwards, Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway took notice and shared on her Instagram the boy’s bravery, who is also a Marvel’s Avengers fan, by posting photos of the siblings. The story gained more traction with netizens praising Walker.

“Captain America here, so I read your story,” Evans began in the video message addressed to Walker. He went on to say: “You’re a hero. What you did was so brave, so selfless, your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you.”
According to the family as CNN reported, when asked why Walker did such heroic deed, the boy told them: “If someone had to die, I thought it should be me.”
The family also told in a statement, “May we follow Bridger’s example, approach the world as a child, and bring greater peace to our own homes, communities, states, and countries.”
