Light up your TV in a new way with the new Philips Hue lightstrip. Mount the new Philips strip on your TV and watch it flash and glow along with your game or movie. Once mounted on the TV, the Philips Hue lightstrip will flash different colors along the strip. This ability will allow for a more immersive TV experience.
The New Philips Hue Lightstrip
If you want to use this strip, you’ll have to shell out $60 Hue Bridge and $230 for a Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box. Use both gadgets if you want to mount the strip on your TV. However, if you just plan to use the strip for your monitor, just use the Hue Bridge and the Philips Hue Sync app.
You can also mount the strip straight out of the box.
How Does the Philips Hue Lightstrip Work?
This strip is one result of years of hard work from Signify to merge lighting with home entertainment. Signify makes the Hue system, which should give users a more immersive TV experience. Behind the Hue system is the idea that TVs should hold viewers’ attention better using lighting that mirrors what they’re watching. The Verge reports that the system does work, though the quickly changing lighting might distract users.
